Raila’s Driver Accused of Sexual Assault and Robbery with Violence
Controversial driver to ‘Baba’, Erick Ominde allegedly caused some upheavals at Kisumu International Airport over the weekend, leading to drawing of guns. He was arrested, but later bailed out.
A court in Kisumu has issued a warrant of arrest against the driver after he failed to appear before the court on Wednesday.
The controversial driver was accused of robbery with violence and sexual assault, said to have been committed on July 5, 2014, in Kirembe area of Kisumu East district.
The charge sheet read that Ominde robbed Nancy Sambaror of two Sony recorders, a Sony digital camera, a mobile phone and Sh7,500 cash. The value of cash and property taken from her is estimated at Sh74,500. Sambaror further claims that she was physically assaulted.
Ominde has also been charged with sexually assaulting Sambaror the same day, by lewdly touching her. Magistrate Samuel Atonga ordered the suspect arrested and arraigned in court on July 21 for mention of the case.
